In Bangladesh, ISKCON advised Hindus not to wear saffron clothes and apply tilak.

ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) Kolkata spokesperson Radharaman Das said on Tuesday (December 3, 2024) that Hindus have been advised not to go out wearing tilak and saffron clothes. He has given this advice in view of the security threat due to the attacks targeting Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Cases of violence against the Hindu community have increased since the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government in Bangladesh. ISKCON Kolkata vice president Radharaman Das told news agency PTI, 'The situation in Bangladesh is worrying. We have told those sadhus and devotees who are calling us not to make public their identity as ISKCON followers or sadhus. We have asked them to practice their religion inside homes or temples only. We have advised them to wear such clothes which do not attract the attention of other people. He stressed that this measure is temporary and is only aimed at ensuring their safety. Radharaman Das said, 'This is not an advice or a general guideline, but this is my personal suggestion to those sadhus and devotees who have been calling us continuously for the last few days.' Referring to incidents of vandalism in temples and attacks on religious ceremonies, Radharaman Das said, 'Many of our devotees and their families have received threats or been intimidated.'
