It is not easy to remove the tomb of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb! Major changes will have to be made in the rules of Archaeological Survey of India
After receiving the proposal from the state government, either the Ministry of Culture of the central government can issue a gazette notification under Section-35 and remove Aurangzeb's tomb from the list of protected monuments or the matter can be decided on the basis of their report by forming a committee of experts in archaeology, history and other matters.

Since the release of the Bollywood film "Chhava" on Chhatrapati Sambhaji, there has been a continuous demand in Maharashtra to remove the tomb of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. While Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has expressed his desire to remove Aurangzeb's grave in Khuldabad area of Maharashtra's Aurangabad district, Hindutva organisations in Maharashtra have warned of a Babri-style kar seva to remove the grave. In such a situation, now a large number of security forces have been deployed outside the grave of Aurangzeb. In the midst of all this, the big question is whether it is so easy to remove Aurangzeb's grave? So the answer is' no 'because this structure is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and is also the property of the Waqf. In such a situation, the state government will have to face many legal hurdles in removing it. According to the rules of the ASI, in order to remove any monument protected by it from the protection list, the state government, the circle of the ASI which is responsible for the protection of the monument or any other government institution will have to give a proposal to the ASI or the government under Section-35 of the AMASR Act with reasons. In the case of Aurangzeb's tomb, since the Maharashtra government has expressed its willingness, the Maharashtra government will have to give a proposal to the ASI or the Ministry of Culture to remove Aurangzeb's tomb from the protected list.
