Vande Bharat train will run on the world's highest railway bridge on Chenab river

The train will reach Jammu and Kashmir, which is called the paradise of the earth, for the first time. The 130-year wait is coming to an end. Today the valley will be connected to the rest of the country through rail. This has been made possible due to the Chenab Bridge. The world's highest railway bridge over the Chenab river has turned this dream into reality. Thanks to this bridge, people will now be able to enjoy the snowy valleys and beauty of Kashmir by train. Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Vande Bharat train from Katra. The Udhampur-Katra-Srinagar-Baramulla rail line was inaugurated today. The Prime Minister today dedicated the 272 km long railway line to the nation and inaugurated the world's highest Chenab Bridge.
At 359 metres above the river bed, the Chenab Bridge is the world's highest railway bridge. Today, the Vande Bharat train will pass through this rail bridge. The more beautiful and special this bridge is, the longer it took to build it. Built in 22 years, this bridge is a marvel of engineering. After being stuck for years, this bridge has now been completed. The work of building a bridge over the Chenab River was so difficult that it took 130 years for the train to reach the valley. The Chenab Bridge project was approved in the year 2003, work has also started. But there were many challenges in building the bridge. It was supposed to be completed in 2009, but by then only the basic work could be completed. In 2017, 3200 employees and engineers were deployed so that the work could be completed quickly. In the year 2021, the construction of the arch of the bridge began and the track was laid on the bridge. The trial run of the train was started in the year 2024 and after about 22 years, today, on June 6, the train will pass through this bridge.
