According to sources, Elon Musk's Starlink has been licensed by the Indian government. After getting the license to Starlink, it can now be said that the wait for satellite internet is now at its last stage. Musk's company received the letter of intent last month. Now taking a step further, it has also got the GMPCS license from the government. According to sources, the Department of Telecommunications of the Government of India has given Starlink a license to start services in the country on Friday. Getting a license from the Government of India is a big achievement for the company. Starlink is the third Indian company to receive government approval for satellite internet services. The government has already given licences to Jio and Airtel. Earlier, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had said that Starlink Satcom could be given a licence soon. After getting the GMPCS license, now there is only one challenge before Starlink. The company will have to get final approval from IN-SPACe to launch satellite internet services in India. After getting this approval, users will be able to use satellite-based internet service. However, it is not yet clear how long it will take for the project to be completed.
