As soon as he addresses the Parliament of Guyana, PM Modi will become the first Indian Prime Minister to give the most number of speeches in foreign parliaments.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a special session of the Parliament of Guyana on Thursday. This address will prove to be another milestone in his growing global acceptance. Earlier, he was awarded Guyana's highest civilian honour, 'The Order of Excellence'. This speech of PM Modi will be the 14th time when he will speak on behalf of India in a foreign parliament. Prime Minister Modi has the distinction of being the Indian Prime Minister who has given the most number of speeches in foreign parliaments. This is double the number of speeches given by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in seven foreign parliaments. Indira Gandhi addressed foreign parliaments four times, while Jawaharlal Nehru addressed them thrice. Rajiv Gandhi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee gave such speeches twice, while Morarji Desai and PV Narasimha Rao addressed a foreign parliament only once.
