Is Amit Shah bigger than Gandhi, Patel and Ambedkar?
Attacking Amit Shah, the Congress MP said he should first fulfil the responsibility given to him by the country. He alleged that instead of answering questions related to his work, Amit Shah was questioning the decisions of historical leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel. This political debate over Vande Mataram is no longer limited to the historic decisions related to the national anthem, but seems to be becoming a new issue of ideological confrontation between the Congress and the BJP. After Pawan Khera's sharp statement, this controversy is expected to heat up further.
New Delhi: The ongoing political debate in the country about Vande Mataram is now becoming more intense. Congress MP Pawan Khera launched a scathing attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah, citing the resolution passed in 1937 on Vande Mataram. Khera questioned how Amit Shah could criticise the resolution which included leaders like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi and C Rajagopalachari.
Pawan Khera said that the resolution passed in 1937 regarding Vande Mataram was the historic resolution on the basis of which the future system was formed. He claimed that the decision was taken following the advice of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. In such a situation, he took a jibe at Amit Shah and asked whether he is now bigger than Sardar Patel, Gandhi, Nehru and Tagore.
"Has Amit Shah become bigger than the Constituent Assembly? '
Khera said it was also decided in the Constituent Assembly to sing two variations of Vande Mataram. He questioned whether Amit Shah has now gone beyond the decision of the Constituent Assembly.
"The country will have to decide whether it will accept Amit Shah's words or Sardar Patel's, Gandhi's or the Constituent Assembly's. "What do they think of themselves?" asked Amit Shah. Do you understand God? Who're they? "
"" "Appeared in Parliament after 20 days" ""
Pawan Khera did not stop his attack here. He also raised questions over Amit Shah's alleged absence from Parliament. Khera alleged that Amit Shah was away from Parliament for about 20 days and has now suddenly come out on the issue of Vande Mataram.
He said that the Home Minister should answer on the issues which are directly related to his responsibility. Questioning the firing and the use of pellet guns, Khera asked who ordered the pellet guns on the youth and on whose orders the lathicharge on the girls took place.
