It's a crime, not a Apradh (क्राइम होगा, अपराध नहीं!)! Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary is framing a new definition of law in Bihar.

Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav criticised the government for the incident. He wrote on social media that there can be 'Crime' in Bihar, but not 'Crime'! He also questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's selection process and the future of Bihar. In his statement, Tejashwi also referred to the serious allegations levelled against Samrat Chaudhary. However, such allegations should not be seen as established facts but as political allegations.

It's a crime, not a Apradh (क्राइम होगा, अपराध नहीं!)! Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary is framing a new definition of law in Bihar.

Delhi Lookout | Political satire

A video of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has gone crazy viral on social media. Hearing the statement, it seems that the problem of crime control in Bihar has been solved not by improving law and order, but by changing the meaning of words!

From a government platform, the Chief Minister said:

"There is no crime here. The crime scene is over. It may be a crime, but it is not a crime. No one is a criminal. "

Now the question is, was the Chief Minister talking about the law and order of Bihar or was he announcing the introduction of a new administrative system between Hindi and English?

If there can be crime, but not crime, will criminals now also get the freedom to choose their language? Will the police write the FIR in Hindi or English? And even in the court, will the definition of crime be decided by looking at the language?

More than the seriousness of the statement, there is a debate on its interpretation.

The statement came at a time when an agreement on river water management in Bihar was being discussed in the presence of Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. The Chief Minister listed two major challenges of Bihar - population and water. He said that if the water of seven big rivers coming from Nepal is managed properly, then the picture of Bihar can change.

It is certainly necessary to rid Bihar of the problem of water, but the question is that in a state that needs development, employment, industry and better law and order, what kind of thinking does such a comment on crime reflect?

Tejashwi Yadav also hit out.

Now the real question is to the Prime Minister.

Does Bihar need such jugglery of words or such strict action against criminals, the effect of which is visible on the ground?

Because the public does not care whether the crime is called Crime or Crime. It matters to him whether he is safe while out on the road or not.

Changing the language of the law does not change the law and order, Chief Minister!
