CBSE re-evaluation portal hit by a major cyber attack! 1.5 million hits in 2 minutes, yet 16,000 students successfully applied.

In this direction, the cyber security system is being continuously strengthened. The Board has assured the students and parents that the re-evaluation process is going on smoothly and expert teams are on alert round the clock to deal with any technical challenges.
New Delhi. Thousands of students are currently applying for re-evaluation of their answer sheets on the CBSE's re-evaluation portal. Meanwhile, the board made a shocking revelation that the portal faced massive cyber attacks. However, the cyber security team of CBSE managed the situation in time and did not let the application process of the students get affected.
According to the board, more than 16,000 students had successfully applied for re-evaluation till 3 pm on Tuesday. Currently, the portal has the capacity to handle more than 8,000 users simultaneously.
15 lakh hits in 2 minutes, cyber attackers tried to shut down the system
As the number of students increased on the portal, some mischievous elements tried to disrupt its services, the CBSE said. During a recent major cyber attack, around 15 lakh hits were recorded on the portal within just two minutes. Not only this, attempts were also made to access the files in an unauthorised manner more than one lakh times.
Cybersecurity team working around the clock
The cyber security and technical team of CBSE was constantly monitoring. The board said that the experts kept the portal running normally while thwarting the attacks, due to which the students did not face any major problem.
Major changes made on the feedback of students
The Board has also made several important improvements in the portal based on the suggestions received from the students. The biggest change is to increase the session time limit, which will now allow students more time than before to fill in the application and upload the required documents.
