Notably, none of the Sri Lankan players managed to score a century in this innings. However, their collective effort resulted in Sri Lanka achieving a massive milestone, thereby surpassing Indian cricket team's 48-year-old record.
In the first innings of BAN vs SL 2nd Test match against Bangladesh, Sri Lankan team were bowled out for 531 runs. Wicketkeeper-batter Kushal Mendis emerged as the highest run-scorer for Sri Lanka, scoring 93 runs off 150 balls. Kamindu Mendis contributed with an unbeaten innings of 92 runs in 167 balls. Additionally, Dimuth Karunaratne scored 86 runs, while captain Dhananjaya de Silva and Dinesh Chandimal contributed 70 runs and 59 runs, respectively. Nishan Madushka chipped in with 57 runs to further bolster Sri Lanka's innings.
