If Yasin Malik's health condition is so bad then why is he on hunger strike? - Delhi High Court 

The Central Government has opposed the petition made by Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief Yasin Malik, who is jailed in the terrorist funding case, for admission in Delhi AIIMS. The Centre's lawyer told the High Court that Yasin Malik had ended his hunger strike on November 8. The jail administration had also filed a status report regarding the medical condition of Yasin Malik in the Delhi High Court. Now the next hearing of the case will be on November 18. Actually, Yasin Malik had filed a petition in the High Court demanding admission to AIIMS due to his deteriorating health, which was opposed by the Central Government. Today on Monday (November 11), the Delhi High Court has directed the jail administration to provide treatment to Yasin Malik as per the jail rules, apart from this, the Delhi High Court has given a copy of the status report regarding the medical condition of Yasin Malik to Yasin Malik's lawyer. The High Court has also asked Malik's medical status report to be handed over to his lawyer. Yasin Malik's lawyer told the court that Yasin Malik has been on hunger strike since November 1, with some of his demands, including being physically present in the court. Yasin is also suffering from cardiac and kidney related problems and hearing problems. Yasin is still on a stretcher. His heart valves have also changed. Yasin's lawyer said that in such a situation he cannot be deprived of treatment. The court also said that if Yasin Malik's health condition is so bad then why is he on hunger strike? There may be other ways to get your demands met. Yasin Malik's lawyer demanded that if the need arises before Monday, Yasin should be provided medical facilities outside the jail. The court said in its direction that according to the jail manual, Yasin Malik should be provided proper medical facilities inside the jail. Now the next hearing of the case will be held in Delhi High Court on November 18.
