Jagdeep Dhankhar's sudden resignation from the post of Vice President on Monday (July 21, 2024), the first day of the Monsoon Session, has shocked the entire country. However, she cited health reasons in her letter to President Droupadi Murmu. Dhankhar will now vacate the Vice President's House soon. An official of the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry said Dhankhar is entitled to a government bungalow. Jagdeep Dhankhar suddenly reached Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday before resigning. He met President Droupadi Murmu at around 9:00 pm and submitted his resignation. Half an hour later, he made his resignation public on social media. From the same day, he started packing things to vacate the Vice President's House. The President accepted his resignation a day later on Tuesday (July 22, 2025).
Jagdeep Dhankhar had shifted to the newly-constructed Vice President's Enclave on Church Road near the Parliament House complex in April last year. After staying in the Vice President Enclave for about 15 months, he will now have to leave the VP House.
