Jharkhand High Court has granted bail to former CM Hemant Soren in the money laundering case
The lease of this land is in the name of Rajkumar Pahan. A person named Hilarius Kachhap used to do farming on this land and the electricity connection is in his name. Hemant Soren has nothing to do with this.
NEWS - Jharkhand High Court has granted bail to former CM Hemant Soren in the money laundering case related to land scam. Justice Rangan Mukhopadhyay's court had reserved its decision on June 13 after completing three days of debate and hearing on this petition. Hemant Soren was arrested by ED on the night of 31 January in the land scam. Since then he is lodged in judicial custody in Birsa Munda Central Jail, Ranchi. During the hearing on the bail plea, while presenting the arguments on behalf of Hemant Soren, senior Supreme Court advocates Kapil Sibal and Meenakshi Arora had said that the land on the charges of possession of which the ED has taken action against Hemant Soren, is Chhotanagpur Tenancy. Under the Act, “Bhuinhari” is of nature and cannot be sold or transferred to any person under any circumstances. The lease of this land is in the name of Rajkumar Pahan.
