Reports have now emerged that after around 4 F-16 supersonic fighter jets of the Pakistan Air Force were shot down by the Indian surface-to-air missile defence system, Pakistan suffered heavy losses, as the Sargodha airbase was damaged and at least $100 million is needed for repair work.
After the all-out attack on Pakistan by India's armed forces, Pakistan suffered a huge loss of $1.12424 billion. The F-16 had taken off from the Sargodha airbase, which is a major air force station of the Pakistan Air Force. The Indian SAM (surface-to-air missile) shot down the fighter jet near the Sargodha airbase. The F-16 is one of the mainstays of the Pakistan Air Force, which also has Chinese and French fighter jets.
According to the report, the radar command infrastructure in Sargodha, Pakistan was also damaged during the airstrike. The total cost of the F-16 was about $349.52 million (each unit $87.38 million), while the C-130 cost about $40 million. HQ-9 suffered $200 million in damage and two mobile command centres suffered $10 million in damage (one mobile command centre cost $5 million).
