The petition was written using AI, and the court revealed its truth: The Supreme Court asked the meaning of the words, and the petitioner remained silent.

An interesting situation came to the fore during the hearing of a public interest litigation related to the PM CARES Fund in the Supreme Court of India, when the court questioned the petitioner's arguments and his background.

The matter came up for hearing before a bench of Justices Surya Kant, Joymalya Bagchi and R Mahadevan. During the hearing, the bench got suspicious when Rajneesh Sidhu, a cloth merchant from Ludhiana, stood up to argue his petition.

As soon as Sidhu started reading out his written submissions, the court started asking questions about his educational qualifications and background. The petitioner said he had studied up to Class 12 and had never filed any petition before that.

To this, the Chief Justice sarcastically said, "Great act of bravery, came walking straight from Ludhiana. The court further said that if the petitioners understand the language of their arguments, they should answer some questions. The Chief Justice even said that if he scored even 30 per cent marks in the English questions, the court would assume that he had prepared the petition himself.

The court then asked the meaning of some legal terms used in the petition, but the petitioners could not give satisfactory answers. Finally, Rajneesh Sidhu admitted that he had taken the help of AI tools in preparing the petition.
