The Supreme Court made it clear that the case against Asaram is a serious matter under the POCSO Act. The court said, 'In such a situation, we will only consider whether Asaram can be granted interim bail on the grounds of ill health.' The Supreme Court issued a notice to the Gujarat government on Asaram's bail plea within three weeks. Has asked for. Earlier, on August 29, the Gujarat High Court had rejected Asaram's petition, in which he had demanded suspension of the life sentence awarded by the Gandhinagar court in 2023. The High Court, while suspending the sentence and refusing to grant him bail, had said that no case was made out for granting relief. In Asaram's petition it was said that he is the victim of a conspiracy and the allegations of rape are false. It said that the trial court erred in accepting the victim's explanation of the delay of 12 years in filing the complaint. His appeal against his conviction in a rape case in Jodhpur is pending before the Rajasthan High Court. In January this year, the Rajasthan High Court had rejected Asaram's application for suspension of sentence in that case.
