Advisory issued due to heavy rain in Kedranath! So far 130 people have been saved through the rescue operation!
An advisory has been issued by the Rudraprayag district administration for the pilgrims who have reached Rudraprayag for Kedarnath darshan, in which they have been asked to stay safe wherever they are and postpone their Kedarnath Dham Yatra. It has been said in the advisory that at present the condition of motorway and pedestrian path beyond Sonprayag is not at all good.
STATE NEWS- MI is landing passengers at Chardham helipad while Chinook will land at Gauchar airstrip. Till 9 am, 133 people have been safely airlifted from Kedarnath with the help of MI, Chinook and other small helicopters. The rescue operation will continue until all the people come out.
Eight people have died and about six have been injured due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand. Kedarnath Yatra has been stopped after the road was washed away due to heavy rains. According to the information, about 20 to 30 meters of road between Bhimwali and Rambada has been washed away. At the same time, about 100 meters of road near Sonprayag has been washed away in the flood. Taptakund in Gaurikund has also been completely destroyed in the flood.
