A notice has been sent to Kejriwal and he has been asked to give evidence tomorrow i.e. Wednesday. The Election Commission has asked AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal to prove with facts his serious allegations of poisoning and mass massacre in the Yamuna river. The ECI has cited various judicial pronouncements and legal provisions under which such statements against national unity and public harmony can lead to imprisonment of up to three years. "Such allegations have the serious implication of creating enmity between regional groups and residents of neighbouring states, threat to law and order situation due to actual or perceived shortage or non-availability of water," the commission said. The Commission has directed Kejriwal to file his response on the complaints by 8 pm on January 29, 2025, especially with factual and legal metrics along with evidentiary support so that the Commission can investigate the matter and take appropriate action. On Monday, Kejriwal had claimed that the BJP was "poisoning the Yamuna water coming from Haryana to Delhi in an attempt to create anarchy...
