Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was present on the occasion. He flagged off three trains and distributed Rs 7217 crore to beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the development works being carried out in the state. He said that since November 24, 2005, development works in the State have gained momentum. Special focus has been laid on education, health, roads and bridges. Under the Saat Nischay Yojana, the work of providing electricity to every household, tap water to every household, toilets to every household and connecting toll plazas with pucca roads has been completed. Under Saat Nischay Do, 10 lakh government jobs have been given and the target of 10 lakh jobs has been increased to 29 lakh. The Chief Minister has set a target of providing jobs and employment to one crore youth in the next five years. He announced an increase in the pension amount for the elderly, disabled and widows from Rs 400 to Rs 1100, which will benefit 1.11 crore people. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also announced that now free electricity will be provided to all families. "Now they will be given free of cost, no money will be charged. "The decision will be taken in the cabinet meeting. 430 new schemes worth Rs 50,000 crore have also been approved in the state. Announcements have been made by the central government for special economic assistance and various projects to Bihar, including Makhana Board, Airport and Western Kosi Canal. Khelo India Youth Games have also been organized in Bihar. The Chief Minister congratulated the Prime Minister for all these works.
