Fierce protest by youth outside Nepalese parliament against corruption and social media ban in Nepal! 20 people died
The protests escalated and when some protesters tried to enter the restricted zone near the Parliament building, the police used tear gas, water cannons to stop them. At least 18 people were killed and more than 50 injured. The injured have been admitted to the Civil Hospital, Everest Hospital and other nearby health facilities.

Thousands of youths took to the streets in Nepal's capital Kathmandu on Monday (September 08, 2025) to protest against the government's decision to ban 26 popular social media platforms. The protests are mainly by the Generation-Z youth, who are not only angry with the social media ban but also protesting against the rampant corruption in the country.
At 9 in the morning, protesters gathered in the Maitighar area and protested. They carried banners with slogans such as "stop corruption, not social media," "remove ban on social media" and "youth against corruption." The protesters waved the national flag and sang the national anthem.
