Gaurav Luthra and Saurabh Luthra, owners of Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Goa, have been sent to 7-day police custody.
Goa Police said that the accused have said that I have nothing to do with the business, but the FSSAI license was applied by Saurabh Luthra. Saurabh Luthra had also applied for a Pollution Control Board licence. Gaurav Luthra, Saurabh Luthra and Ajay Gupta are again named in the details of partners in the GST license. The panchayat license has already expired, it has not been renewed.
A Delhi court on Thursday (December 11, 2025) reserved its order on the anticipatory bail plea of club owners Gaurav Luthra and Saurabh Luthra in the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub fire incident case in Goa. The court will deliver its verdict at 5:30 pm today. The court also sent co-owner of the nightclub, Ajay Gupta, to seven-day police custody.
During the hearing, the Luthra brothers, represented by their lawyer Tanveer Mir, said the highest authority in Goa has given a statement that these people should be arrested immediately. The entire government machinery is working with a spirit of change. Will my properties be bulldozed, sealed without due process of law in this case? I am afraid for my life, I am being threatened. Advocate Abhinav Mukerjea, appearing for the Goa Police, told the court that the accused brothers said, "I don't know much about operations and I was travelling for work and this was before the incident took place.
