During the operation, 890 Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended from Ahmedabad and 134 from Surat. The police personnel remained in the field the whole night and detained the people staying illegally one by one. Minister Harsh Sanghvi said that this is the biggest operation of Gujarat Police so far and it was carried out with full preparation and planning. The Minister of State for Home Affairs categorically said that those who are living in Gujarat illegally now have only two options - either surrender themselves to the police or face deportation if caught. The government will not allow any illegal citizen to stay in Gujarat.
