India AI Impact Summit begins! India AI Impact Summit 2026 will feature AI-powered tools for everything from malaria to cervical cancer.

The India AI Impact Summit kicked off on Monday. The summit, being held for the first time in the Global South, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday evening. The 'AI Impact Summit 2026' will be held from February 16 to February 20 at Bharat Mandapam. The five-day event will focus on security, governance, ethical use of AI, data security and development of sovereign AI. A big attraction of this summit is the 'YuWaI' program. It is a global youth challenge and aims to spread awareness about AI among students and young professionals. The challenge attracted more than 2,500 applications from more than 38 countries. Of these, the top 20 finalists have been selected by the Ministry of Electronics and IT, with 15 teams from India. These top 20 finalists were selected after several rounds of competition at the end of 2025.
These top 20 finalists will get a chance to showcase their innovations on a global platform through the India AI Impact Summit 2026. The top 20 finalists are using AI in areas such as public health, agriculture, climate adaptation, ease of access, smart mobility and digital trust. His projects include malaria detection systems, AI-powered speech-assisted wearable devices, cervical cancer screening devices, rural telemedicine platforms, agricultural intelligence systems, livestock analysis solutions, forest fire and flood early warning systems, deepfake detection devices, and assistive technology for the visually impaired. The top three finalists will be awarded Rs 15-15 lakh. The next three best finalists will be awarded Rs 10-10 lakh. In addition, two special awards of Rs 5-5 lakh each will also be presented.
