The NDA won 202 seats in the Bihar Assembly elections. The BJP has emerged as the single largest party in the state with 89 seats. Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) won 5 seats and RLM won 4 seats. The Mahagathbandhan, on the other hand, suffered a crushing defeat and was reduced to 35 seats.

He also handed over the letter of support of NDA MLAs to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and staked claim to form the new government in the state. After being elected as the leader of the NDA legislature party, Nitish Kumar went to the Raj Bhawan and met the Governor. Nitish Kumar has been elected as the leader of the JD (U) legislature party. A meeting of the JD (U) legislature party was held at the chief minister's residence on Wednesday (November 19). Nitish Kumar was unanimously elected as the leader of the NDA. Nitish Kumar will take oath for the 10th time as the Chief Minister of Bihar. The swearing-in ceremony is being held at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Thursday (November 20).
