The NDA won 202 seats in the Bihar Assembly elections. The BJP has emerged as the single largest party in the state with 89 seats. Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) won 5 seats and RLM won 4 seats. The Mahagathbandhan, on the other hand, suffered a crushing defeat and was reduced to 35 seats.
Nitish Kumar resigned as the Chief Minister of Bihar on Wednesday (November 19). He also handed over the letter of support of NDA MLAs to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and staked claim to form the new government in the state. Nitish Kumar will take oath for the 10th time as the Chief Minister of Bihar. The swearing-in ceremony is being held at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Thursday (November 20).
