SEBI chief Madhabi Puri Buch's husband Dhaval Buch received Rs 4.78 crore as "income from Mahindra & Mahindra Group" - Congress
Madhabi Buch was a whole-time member of the markets' regulator from April 5, 2017 to October 4, 2021. She was made the chairperson of Sebi on March 2, 2022.Mahindra said Dhaval Buch, who joined the company in 2019 after retiring from Unilever, was hired solely for his expertise in supply chain management.
The Congress on Tuesday claimed that Sebi chief Madhabi Puri Buch's husband, Dhaval Buch, received Rs 4.78 crore as "income in a personal capacity" from the Mahindra and Mahindra Group between 2019-2021. The Mahindra Group has denied the allegations, calling them "false and misleading".Addressing a press conference, Congress's Pawan Khera said, "This comes at a time when Madhabi Buch, as a whole-time member of Sebi, was adjudicating cases of the same group."
