Supreme Court orders Election Commission to publish list of names of 65 lakh missing voters!
This will make it easier for people to know the status of their names and increase transparency in the democratic process. Every booth level officer will put up the list of left out names in the Panchayat Bhawan and Block Office, along with the reason for the missing names will also be clearly displayed. The district-wise list will also be uploaded on the website of the Chief Election Commissioner of the state.

The Supreme Court, after hearing the Bihar SIR case, has ordered the Election Commission to put the names of 65 lakh left out voters on the district-level website and make their information easily available to the public. The court has also emphasised on ensuring wide publicity and transparency.
The commission has directed that the list be made booth-wise and voters can check it through the EPIC number. The reason for not being in the list will be clearly written. Along with this, the public will also be given the facility to make their claim by attaching a copy of the Aadhaar card. Apart from the district-level website, this information will also be widely publicised in the local media and on official social media channels.
