Supreme Court rejects the petition against Jaggi Vasudev to detain two women

The Supreme Court on Friday closed the proceedings on the habeas corpus petition filed against Jaggi Vasudev's Isha Foundation. A man had filed a petition in the apex court alleging that his two daughters were kept hostage at the Isha Foundation premises in Coimbatore. A bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said that both the women are adults. Both of them have said that they were living in the ashram voluntarily and without any pressure.
Retired professor S Kamaraj had filed the petition against Isha Foundation in the Madras High Court. The father had alleged that his two daughters were brainwashed and kept in the ashram. The age of elder daughter Geeta is 42 and the age of younger daughter Lata is 39 years. After this, on September 30, the Madras High Court ordered the Tamil Nadu Police to investigate and submit reports in all criminal cases related to Isha Foundation.
