While hearing the Delhi-NCR air pollution case, the Supreme Court expressed dissatisfaction over the stand of the Delhi government. The court said it has analyzed the affidavit of the Delhi government regarding the measures prescribed in GRAP Phase IV to prevent entry of trucks and SUVs registered outside Delhi. The court said that as far as compliance is concerned, we are not satisfied. During the hearing, the court was told that there are 113 entry points into Delhi, but the Delhi government's counsel said that mainly 13 major entry points are monitored under GRAP IV. This means there are no restrictions on vehicles at the other 100 points. We direct the Delhi Government and Delhi Police to ensure that checkposts are established immediately at all 113 entry points.
