The Deputy Chief Minister means no power and no rutba! Just a compulsion to stay in the alliance
There is no power in the hands of the Deputy CM and all the decisions of the state are taken by the CM But in this era of alliance, deputy CM is considered a respectable post to satisfy all parties. Political parties are also making deputy CMs to achieve all equations. At present, there are 26 deputy chief ministers in the country.
Devendra Fadnavis is all set to become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the second time. Along with this, two deputy CMs are also being made. Former Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde and NCP leader Ajit Pawar were sworn in as deputy chief ministers. With this, a big coincidence is being made in the country that for the first time there are 26 Deputy Chief Ministers in the country.
