Ayodhya: In a major decision taken at a crucial meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Monday, the resignation of Champat Rai, the general secretary of the trust, was accepted. However, a final decision on the resignation of Anil Mishra is yet to be taken.

The meeting, which was held at 3:30 pm on Monday under the chairmanship of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, discussed in detail the recent sacrifice theft controversy.

What happened at the beginning of the meeting?

The meeting began with the presentation of the agenda by Swami Govind Dev Giri, treasurer of the trust. He proposed to consider the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra along with a discussion on the climbing dispute.

According to sources, to keep the discussion fair, it was suggested that both the concerned members stay away from the meeting during the initial deliberations. Later, he was given an opportunity to present his case. Both were not present at the meeting.

Mahant Nritya Gopal Das expresses grief

According to sources, during the meeting, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das expressed deep sorrow over the entire development. He said the matter was related to the faith of crores of Hindus and if there was any irregularity at any level, strict action should be taken against the culprits.

Terming the entire episode as a "sin," the trust members expressed concern over its seriousness.

Decision on Anil Mishra yet to be taken

While Champat Rai's resignation has been accepted, no final decision has been taken by the trust on Anil Mishra's resignation. A decision in this regard will be taken after further discussion.
