The Hindu side claims that the Ajmer Dargah was actually a Shiva temple there. After demolishing the temple, a dargah was built there. There was a pond near the temple, which still exists today. The petition from the Hindu side has demanded a survey of the Dargah. In the petition, a demand has been made to allow worship inside the Dargah. The Hindu side claims that before the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, there was a temple of Sankat Mochan Mahadev, which was demolished 800 years ago and the Dargah was built. The Hindu side has demanded the court to conduct a survey and hand it over to the Hindus. Vishnu Gupta had filed a petition in the court on behalf of Hindu Sena, on which the court has sent a notice to the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Dargah Committee Ajmer and the Archaeological Survey of India Department.
