Accordingly, the counting of slips of 1440 VVPAT units from 288 assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra has been matched with the data of the respective control unit."As per the reports received from the concerned District Electoral Officers, no discrepancy has been noticed between VVPAT Slip Count and EVM Control Unit Count.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday (December 10, 2024) responded to opposition questions on EVMs and VVPATs, saying that 1440 votes in 288 assembly seats during the Maharashtra assembly elections were matched with the previously released results, which were found in VVPATs and EVMs. No discrepancy was found during the survey. As per the guidelines, it is mandatory to count VVPAT slips of five selected polling stations in each assembly constituency of the state. The poll body counted the slips on November 23 (the day of results) in the presence of the counting observer and representatives of the candidates.
