Bombay High Court has ruled that if the husband or wife threatens suicide, it will be considered grounds for divorce

The Bombay High Court has reserved its judgment. The court has said that if the husband or wife threatens to commit suicide. Or if you try to commit suicide, it will amount to 'cruelty' and the other party can seek divorce under this ground. Justice RM Joshi of the Aurangabad bench of the high court, in his order last month, upheld the order passed by the family court dissolving the marriage of a couple. Earlier, a family court had granted divorce in favour of the petitioner's husband. The court held that the woman had abused her husband. The woman had approached the high court challenging the family court's order. Threat to kill family In fact, the husband had alleged that his wife always threatened him to implicate his family by committing suicide and send him to jail. She had filed a divorce case against him in the family court. "This is cruelty under the provisions of the Hindu Marriage Act," he said in his plea. Following this, the court had reserved the verdict.
