India's indigenous fighter jet LCA Tejas aircraft has not crashed. The official announcement was made on Monday. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has said this in a clear response to some recent media reports related to LCA Tejas.
According to HAL, some news reports have misrepresented facts. The company has clarified that there has been no incident of any kind of crash of LCA Tejas aircraft. The LCA Tejas aircraft has been manufactured by HAL. Some media reports had said that the LCA Tejas aircraft had crashed. To this, HAL said the incident being referred to was a minor technical incident on the ground and not during the flight. It was immediately taken over under regular maintenance and standard operating procedures. No major injuries or casualties have been reported in the incident.
The company said the LCA Tejas has one of the best safety records among contemporary fighter aircraft in the world. This indigenous fighter aircraft is known for state-of-the-art technology, advanced avionics and strict safety standards. HAL also informed that a thorough analysis of the technical aspects is being carried out as per the standard procedure. The company is working closely with the Indian Air Force in this regard to ensure quick and effective resolution of any potential technical issues.
The company has appealed that there should not be any kind of speculation without official confirmation and only authenticated information should be circulated. HAL reiterated that the Tejas programme is completely safe, reliable and will strengthen the strategic capability of the country. With this clarification, HAL has sought to clarify that LCA Tejas is completely safe and there is no disruption in operations.
