The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has received sanction to prosecute Satyendra Jain in a disproportionate assets case. The agency has also filed a supplementary charge sheet in the case on January 4. The Rouse Avenue Court has listed the matter for consideration. Elections to the 70-member Delhi Assembly are scheduled to be held on February 5, 2025. Counting of votes for all 70 seats will take place on February 8, 2025. Shakur Basti is one of the 70 Lok Sabha seats in Delhi. The Aam Aadmi Party has fielded sitting MLA Satyendra Jain from the seat. The Congress has given ticket to Satish Luthra and the BJP has given ticket to Karnail Singh. The Shakur Basti seat has been held by the Aam Aadmi Party since 2013 and has been won by Satyendra Jain for three consecutive terms. This time too, the Aam Aadmi Party has given ticket to Satyendra Jain from Shakur Basti. In such a situation, Satyendra Jain is considered a strong contender for this seat. Satyendra Jain is contesting against BJP's Karnail Singh. In such a situation, it can be said that a thorny contest will be seen on this seat. At the same time, Satish Luthra of the Congress party can also create problems for the Aam Aadmi Party.
