Fire breaks out at car showroom near Kolkata airport, 30 vehicles gutted It was found after three hours of effort.

A massive fire broke out at a car showroom in Jessore Road area near Kolkata International Airport in the early hours of Monday. The fire engulfed a large part of the showroom and nearly 30 vehicles parked there were completely burnt to ashes. An atmosphere of unrest was created in the district after the incident.

As soon as the fire was reported, eight fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and started working to extinguish the fire. It was challenging to control the fire due to the strong flames and the vehicles present in the showroom. The fire was brought under control after nearly a half-hour's efforts.

The owner of the vehicle, Samar Kaur, was informed about the accident by one of her friends over phone at around 4 am. Kaur's car was also parked right near the site of the fire. As soon as the information was received, he reached the spot to save his car, but seeing the situation there, it was not possible for him to remove the car.

According to Kaur, when he reached the spot, the fire was so severe that he was not in a position to go even within a radius of about 10 feet. The fire had reached right in front of his vehicle, due to which efforts to rescue the car also failed.

The fire personnel rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire from the surrounding areas. Fortunately, no casualty or injury has been reported in the incident.

The exact cause of the fire is unknown at present. The incident is being investigated by the authorities and a detailed assessment of the source of the fire and the damage is being done.
