NEET paper leak case: The entire sequence of events from the beginning of the movement to today's uproar over the NEET controversy: Opposition demands resignation in Parliament

Protests erupted across the country over the NEET paper leak case, following which the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) intensified its agitation against the government over the issue. The party launched a series of dharnas, protests and hunger strikes demanding cancellation of the exams, strict action against the culprits and resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

During the agitation, CJP leader Abhijit Dipke and other leaders accused the government of playing with the future of students. Meanwhile, social activist Sonam Wangchuk also sat on a hunger strike over the issue. He later put forth certain conditions to end the fast, but is currently admitted to Safdarjung Hospital.

Today CJP held a big demonstration at Parliament March and Jantar Mantar. There took place scuffles between the police and protesters. As the situation turned tense, police resorted to lathicharge and fired tear gas shells to disperse the protesters. Thereafter, the entire area was cordoned off by the police.

During the protest, CJP spokesperson Saurabh Das claimed on social media platform X that party leader Abhijit Dipke has been detained by the police. However, after some time, he himself clarified that this had not happened and the earlier information was wrong.

Meanwhile, another big news related to the movement came to light that CJP leader Abhijit Dipke ended his fast. CJP spokesperson Saurabh Das claimed that the government has called a party delegation for talks.

Later, a CJP delegation met Union Minister J P Nadda and submitted a memorandum of their demands. The delegation demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, an impartial probe into the NEET paper leak and safeguarding the interests of students.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan were also present on the occasion. Though there is no official word on what transpired at the meeting, it is being seen as a major political development.

At present, the movement is going on regarding the NEET paper leak. The CJP is keeping up the pressure on the government, while all eyes are on the strategy ahead after the delegation talks from the government and meetings at the top level.
