US President Donald Trump has said that talks have been held to completely end the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. He said there have been "positive talks" on the issue of a "complete solution."
Trump also said he would postpone any attacks on Iran's power plants and energy infrastructure for five days.
"I am pleased to report that the United States and Iran have had a very good and positive conversation over the past two days about a full resolution to the conflict in the Middle East," he wrote in a post on Truth Social. "Given the tone and tenor of these constructive talks, which will continue throughout the week, I have directed the War Department to postpone for five days all military strikes on Iran's power plants and energy infrastructure. The decision will depend on the success of the meetings and discussions. Iran has rejected the US president's claim. Iranian media, affiliated with the IRGC, say there were no talks with Trump and claim he withdrew for fear of Iranian retaliation.
