Russia's fierce attack in Ukraine, 15 people including 4 children killed! 600 drones and 31 missiles fired across the country

Russia attacked Ukraine with missiles and drones on Thursday (August 28, 2025) morning, killing a total of 15 people in Ukraine, including 4 children. President Volodymyr Zelensky responded by saying it was Russia's response to diplomatic efforts to end the war. Buildings in seven districts, including the headquarters of the European Union mission and the British Council, were damaged in the attack. Ukraine's military said air defence systems shot down 563 of the nearly 600 drones and 26 of the 31 missiles fired across the country by Russia. A rescue team reached the site of the attack, where a building had been reduced to rubble, Reuters reported. During the search operation, 2 bodies were recovered. At least 38 Ukrainians were wounded in the hours-long assault, officials said. The Ukrainian military said that Russia attacked a total of 13 locations. National grid operator Ukrenergo said energy facilities had suffered significant damage. "Russia chooses ballistic missiles instead of sitting at the negotiating table," Zelensky said in a post on X. He wants to continue killing instead of ending the war. The Russian defence ministry said the military had hit military industrial sites and airports. Russia has always denied allegations of targeting civilians, but dozens of people have been killed in recent days in attacks in densely populated areas. During the attack, clouds of smoke were seen and explosions were heard in Kiev during the night. Mayor Vitali Klitschko described it as one of the biggest attacks on the city in recent months. He said that even after the meeting with US President Donald Trump in Alaska, it did not show any significant result.
