There will be more uproar over SIR! Now after Bihar, SIR will be in West Bengal
But will it be as easy as Bihar for the Election Commission to get an FIR registered in Bengal? The answer is no... On the one hand, Mamata Banerjee and her party TMC are strongly opposed to this entire SIR process. Secondly, when the Election Commission asked the Bihar government to get the FIR done, the Bihar government did not object because there is an NDA government in Bihar, headed by Nitish Kumar. So there was no question of that.

The ongoing controversy over SIR in Bihar is just the trailer of the big picture, in which Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi are seen as heroes. The big and real picture of this exercise is yet to be seen, because now after Bihar, SIR is going to be in Bengal, for which the Election Commission has started its preparations. With this, now the command of the protest is going to be taken by Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, in which the game will be played. In Bihar, the onus is on Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi to oppose the SIR. He is doing his job well, but his weakest link is that both the leaders are in the opposition. Rahul Gandhi is the Leader of Opposition at the Centre and Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar. As the Leader of Opposition, he has certain limitations in which he cannot exert any kind of pressure on any officer of the state. The result is that they have to take out a voter rights yatra and whatever things are there, they have to go to the public. Will this happen in Bengal? This question is because the Election Commission is going to make a special intensive revision in Bengal as well. For this, the Election Commission has asked the Chief Secretary and District Election Officers of Bengal to make preparations and directed that if recruitments are to be made for the SIR, they should also be started immediately. Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal Manoj Agarwal has written a letter to the district election officers of all the districts of West Bengal on August 27 in this regard. He has also written a letter to the Chief Secretary of Bengal Manoj Pant, saying that the Bengal government will have to start preparations for this, including recruitment to the vacant posts.
