A young female doctor in Maharashtra committed suicide. A suicide note was written on her palm, accusing a police officer of rape.

A very serious and painful case has come to light from Satara district of Maharashtra, where a woman doctor committed suicide. The deceased doctor wrote a suicide note on his palm before dying, in which he has made serious allegations of rape and mental harassment against two policemen. According to the police, the incident took place in Phaltan tehsil. The body of the woman doctor was found hanging in a hotel room late on Thursday night. On receiving information, police reached the spot and sent the body to hospital for post-mortem. The deceased, a resident of Beed district, was working as a doctor at a government hospital at Phaltan in Satara district, police said. The woman doctor has written the name of two Satara police officers in the suicide note written on her palm. She alleged that sub-inspector Gopal Badane raped and sexually assaulted her several times for the last five months, while the other policeman, Prashant Bankar, was mentally harassed by her. "A case has been registered," "a police officer said." The body has been sent to postmortem. The allegations made in the suicide note are being investigated. Taking cognisance of the matter, Maharashtra State Women's Commission chairperson Rupali Chakankar said, "We have directed the Satara police to take strict action against the accused. Police teams are conducting raids in search of the accused. No one involved in this unfortunate incident will be spared. "
