Former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot said that the murder of tailor Kanhaiyalal caused severe damage to Congress in the elections

The Kanhaiyalal murder case in Rajasthan's Udaipur is getting murkier by the day. The main reason for this is the film 'Udaipur Files' made on this murder case. However, the film is yet to release in Rajasthan. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also spoke on the occasion. Gehlot admitted that the case had cost the Congress party in the elections. He, however, attacked the BJP over the issue.
"This case was made an issue against us in the election. Putting the BJP in the dock, Gehlot said that our government caught the accused in four hours. However, the NIA later took over the case. The NIA has not been able to get a statement in this case in 3 years. The family and the villagers are demanding justice. Gehlot questioned why the culprits in the case have not been punished yet. How long will we have to wait for justice? Will BJP do politics on this? Gehlot claimed that if the SOG or the state government had looked into the case at that time, the culprits would have been punished by now. He accused the BJP of mentioning the Kanhaiyalal case in every rally in Rajasthan before the assembly elections and seeking votes in its name. The BJP also spread the lie that a Muslim got Rs 50 lakh and a Hindu got Rs 5 lakh. After this statement of Gehlot, politics has heated up in the state. Gehlot also accused the BJP of politicising the Kanhaiyalal murder case.
