Bihar's final SIR voter list released! 2.1 million new names added after opposition uproar

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released the final voter list of Bihar. There were 7,89,69,844 voters in Bihar. The names of 65 lakh people were deleted in the SIR, after which 7.24 crore people were left. Opposition parties raised objections to this and the matter reached the Supreme Court. Now the final voter list has been released, 21 lakh new voters have been added. The Commission said that now any voter can check their name and details by visiting the official portal https: / / voters. eci. gov. in /. The names of new voters have been added under the process of SIR. Along with this, dead and duplicate entries have been removed. According to the Election Commission, the addresses of the voters who had got their transfers done have also been updated. The Election Commission had said the purpose of the SIR was only to ensure that the names of eligible voters remained in the electoral rolls and excluded voters were included.
